What to know

Tish’a B’Av is the major fast of mourning for the Temples’ destruction and later tragedies. It begins at sundown and ends the following nightfall — longer and stricter than the minor fasts.

Eicha (Lamentations), kinot, and subdued posture mark the day. When the date falls on Shabbat, the fast is postponed — follow your calendar.

Prepare with Shabbat7

Know sundown begin time with margin. Eat a seudah mafseket thoughtfully beforehand.
